How We Started
The initial idea for Droplet Water Project was conceived during a meeting about nonprofit work and philanthropy in 2017 between co-founder Praneeth Goli and Former CEO of The Louisville Water Company and Metro Sewage Department Greg Heitzman. Greg, an impactful local philanthropist, serves on the Board of Directors for our partner organization Waterstep International.

Droplet Water Project Inc. (with “Doing Business As” name Droplet in the State of Kentucky) is a nonprofit corporation registered in the State of Kentucky and recognized as a “Tax-Exempt Organization” with “Public Charity Status” by the IRS under section 501c3. Droplet Water Project Inc. is licensed to solicit (filed Unified Registration Statement with Kentucky State Attorney General June 2018).
Droplet Water Project Inc. is committed to a high standard of transparency and good practice in its operation of management and finances. An annual report detailing our business activities and finances will be released to the community through our website. Droplet Water Project Inc. follows an accrual accounting system with a fiscal year ending December 31st. Droplet Water Project Inc. files IRS Form 990 every fiscal year which it will immediately make available to the public through its website. Droplet Water Project Inc. will also commit to a yearly audit by an independent Certified Professional Accountant.
